Why on-hold music with a message?

Callers who hear silence or a beep hang up sooner. Music with an occasional friendly message keeps the wait pleasant, sounds professional and can share something useful in the meantime: your opening hours, your website, or simply that you will be right with them.

What about music licensing fees?

Playing well-known music on a phone line requires annual payments to collecting societies (in the Netherlands: Buma/Stemra for composers and Sena for performers and producers). This is often overlooked and can lead to back payments.

Our on-hold music is therefore composed by a maker who is deliberately not affiliated with any collecting society and has fully waived his rights (CC0 license). To the best of our knowledge, no Buma/Stemra or Sena fees apply to this music. Every order includes a rights statement, and the full supporting file (origin, license and sources) is available via info@meldstem.nl.
